Well it’s finally here. Opening week in Stratford kicks off tomorrow with the Festival Express, a luxury train trip from Toronto to Stratford for performances of Kiss Me Kate and Peter Pan. The train is partially crewed by Festival Volunteers (myself included, I would never pass up an opportunity to spend time on a train).
Monday kicks off the official opening week at the Festival Theatre with As You Like It. Tuesday is again at the Festival Theatre featuring Kiss Me Kate. Wednesday takes us over to the Tom Patterson Theatre for The Winters Tale. Thursday Rocks the Avon Theatre with Evita. Friday is the exciting musical Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris at the Tom Patterson Theatre. The week finishes with the matinee opening of Peter Pan at the Avon Theatre. All in all, a week that promises excitement, suspense, drama, and of course, the usual celebrations of opening.
Get ready Stratford. Opening week 2010 (and my first Stratford opening week) is here.
